this was the hardest film to shoot. 

because of the subjects. simply put, I’ve never laughed so hard while holding a camera. Vinay and Wasif have a give and take with each other. subtle jabs. brotherly. and if I sensed they were holding back, I wouldn’t be afraid to instigate some added chaos. this takes me from silent witness to chaos agent. it’s a rare privilege to exercise, but that only happens when I think we’re verging on the full measure of a person captured on film.

when Wasif left the office after his six month post-op visit, he made sure to say goodbye to me. it’s something that happens when you feel like “we could hang out after this is all over”. and to me, there is no greater testimonial than that. that energy is present in this film.
