"love and creation"
“art is the catalyst of social change and innovation.” this is rob’s motto. and to create art requires two core elements - the spirits of love and creation. at his gallery in hyde park, rob has created the anti-art gallery. everyone is welcome. come as you are. you don’t have to buy anything. just show up as yourself. we’ll figure out the rest together.
like most of our subjects, rob doesn’t like being on camera. he doesn’t like to talk about himself. that requires us to learn how to move with rob - to invite the natural rob out and get him talking on camera. during the first fifth, and also leveraging our years of working together, we learned about a project he’s working on that was short one key element - speakers.
much like investing in a recording session for natasha, renting a sewing studio for rajul, or becoming invisible for dr. vinay, we came to rob’s shoot with a gift - a pair of speakers. showing up with the spirit of love and the intention to create. we spent nearly four hours together as a unit, setting up the speakers, testing them, rearranging the room to flow the way rob needed it to. that whole time, rob knows a video shoot is coming, but he’s thinking about what has been made possible - manifesting his next vision. and the excitement turns to spiritual openness. and to rob telling us he was ready to get on camera and talk.
it’s not manipulation. there are no psychological tricks. just a team learning about their subject and creating the conditions for that subject to be their best self.
