cycles is a bold endeavor.

audacious in scope and mission.

in short, it’s a typical rob mckay joint.

and that’s why we get along so well. but cycles has another thing going for it. an early community of passionate people ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen. in addition to myself and steve, we have charles adler, who co-founded kickstarter. basically, someone who built the platform to help others find their dreams.

charles also happens to be an avid cyclist who has gone on long distance rides with olympians.

other members of our team (soon to be announced) have done rides of similar length to rob’s vision for cycles. what he’s after is not impossible. it’s just improbable, because the core team is a bunch of regular dudes who ride around maybe 40 miles in a day, max, and then charles for whom a century might be done before you say “lunch”.

it’s a perfect blend of absurd and determined. our conversations are full of laughs. our dreams feel tangible. our mission is urgent.

and when you try to capture that on camera, all the rules go out the window. you see my back a lot in this video because i’m trying to put you in the room as the conversation happens, but also close to the speakers so you can feel their energy.

charles’ hat just so happens to match perfectly with chadwick’s art in the background.

rob is in a goofy mood. his t-shirt says as much as he does with 40,000 less words.

and in the background, there’s steve. listening to everyone’s silent digs at him and taking his shots right back.

in short, it’s the perfect way to see how we bring this ride together. brotherhood. guerilla style. mission-first. and to the very best of our abilities.
