we literally had five minutes to film this.
no script. there was just this urgent need to capture something dr. vinay felt passionate about. and he had an appointment in a few minutes. i had no tripod or monopod. no lights. just a camera and a microphone.
and in those five minutes, i had to make vinay feel calm and confident. clear and measured. vinay often trips up because his mind moves so fast. he’ll smash sentences together or make edits mid sentence and restart - all within one shallow breath - which makes edits challenging.
but we’ve worked together so much at this point that we both know what the other is looking for. we both know when things aren’t going well and when we might have to try again. and because of that familiarity and preparation, we can make these aggressive timelines feel appropriate.
